Opening of Jakarta Desk

Anderson Mori & Tomotsune is pleased to announce that we have opened our Jakarta Desk on May 1, 2015 to meet our clients' needs more directly as we have long been providing advices to our clients through local law firms by dispatching Japanese lawyers to these firms on secondment basis.
As the most populated country in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is now drawing attention because of its growing consumer market, as well as its traditional role as source of labor supply. In fact, a number of Japanese-affiliated companies have already branched out into this country, which is also seen as one of the most attractive destinations for medium- and long-term investment. With this background, we have opened our Jakarta Desk inside the office of Roosdiono & Partners, our local relation firm in Indonesia, so that we may provide prompt and improved legal services for those Japanese-affiliated companies which are currently doing business, or considering expanding business, in Indonesia. Specifically, the Jakarta Desk will assist our clients in branching out into the Indonesia in a variety of fields in Indonesia, including M&A, joint ventures, financial transactions, obtaining of licenses and permits, negotiations with authorities, and dispute resolution. It will also advise our clients in Japanese language about legal issues arising in the process of doing business in Indonesia, such as compliance and labor affairs, based on up-to-date information on the local situations.
Having Takahiro Ikeda as the representative attorney, the Jakarta Desk will be committed to provide our clients with locally-rooted legal services, by coordinating with the attorneys at our domestic and foreign offices and cooperating with Roosdiono & Partners as necessary.
