The 2009 ALB In-House Legal Summit Tokyo was held on May 28, 2009 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Tokyo. The event was attended experienced in-house counsel of large international corporations.

Our partner, Mr. Kunihiko Morishita participated in a high-level forum entitled "The Impact of the Current Economic Environment on the Market for Legal Services: Part 2 - the Law Firm Perspective: Meeting New Client and Internal Needs" as a panelist. During the forum Mr. Morishita provided his views on how law firms and in-house counsel can best help corporations adapt to, cater for and limit the effects of the global financial crisis.

Our partner, Mr. Atsutoshi Maeda and our senior foreign counsel Dr. Vassili Moussis delivered an interactive presentation entitled "Practical issues arising in outbound M&As - cross-border regulatory and merger control considerations". The presentation provided an understanding of the key regulatory and merger control issues arising in cross-border M&A transactions. Tips on dealing effectively with cross-border International M&A transactions were also presented to the audience.
