Since South Korea is Japan's closest neighboring country, we have been focusing on the economic relationship that has developed through a long history between these two countries. By seconding our attorneys and interns to leading South Korean law firms and accepting South Korean attorneys and interns, we have gained considerable experience and understanding in projects implemented by South Korean clients and we maintain excellent relationships with the Japan practice teams of all major law firms in South Korea. In a collaboration between AMT's South Korea Desk and the South Korean law firms, AMT actively provides legal support to Japanese companies doing business in South Korea and vice versa. A broad range of South Korean transactions and practices on which AMT has advised are, among others, M&A, compliance matters, intellectual property disputes, labor and employment issues, antitrust and competition issues, cases of investigation by supervisory authorities, cases of misconduct and antidumping issues. AMT likewise has the expertise and strength in assisting South Korean companies' doing business in Japan. We have substantial experience in handling South Korean companies' investments in Japan and in providing advice on intellectual property matters to South Korean companies located in Japan.
