We are pleased to announce our endorsement of Business for Marriage Equality (“BME”), a campaign aimed at raising visibility for companies that support marriage equality (the legalization of same-sex marriage).

BME is a joint initiative managed by Marriage For All Japan (MFAJ), Lawyers for LGBT & Allies Netwotrk. (LLAN), and NPO Nijiiro Diversity, with the goal of highlighting companies in Japan that advocate for the legalization of same-sex marriage. Our firm has a longstanding relationship with these organizations, and our lawyers have actively supported their activities over the years. This endorsement reaffirms our commitment to this important cause.

Since 2021, we have been promoting “Pride with AMT,” an initiative focused on enhancing understanding and awareness of LGBTQ+ issues within the firm. This includes hosting internal seminars and distributing dedicated virtual backgrounds to foster greater awareness. In addition, we have established a dedicated consultation channel where anyone can freely seek advice, and created a new in-house community for sharing opinions and knowledge. In recognition of these efforts, we have been awarded the highest “Gold” rating for three consecutive years since 2022 in the “PRIDE Index,” an evaluation index for workplace LGBTQ+ initiatives developed by the voluntary organization “work with Pride.”

Looking ahead, we will continue to actively promote diversity and inclusion across the firm.
